ELGAR’S ENIGMA VARIATIONS

Sir Edward Elgar: as English as warm beer, cricket on the village green or cucumber sandwiches. But there is so much more to this pipe-smoking, moustachioed maestro, who wrote the nation’s favourite classical work, blew up his shed during a home chemistry experiment and composed the musical equivalent of the Da Vinci Code...the Enigma Variations.

In the return of the outrageously popular Naked Classics series, Paul Rissmann and the RSNO players strip off the pomp and circumstance and grapple with Nimrod and co., using lighting and graphics that would have had Elgar’s Plus Fours in a twist!
