TCHAIKOVSKY’S FOURTH SYMPHONY
Everybody loves Tchaikovsky! He wasn’t a man to let breakdowns, extreme shyness, a sham marriage and failed suicides get in the way of a good tune – in fact he composed many of the world’s most famously cheerful and delightful melodies. Tchaikovsky didn’t like paperwork much (he once ate a tax return because it was making him nervous) – but thankfully he kept his teeth away from this great score, which has since become one of the best loved works in the orchestra’s library.
Join Paul and the players for a careful peek, prod and poke at Tchaikovsky’s great fourth symphony – but watch out for Fate, who’s always lurking just around the corner...
