Rachmaninov Piano Concerto - 2008/09/04 17:44
Dear RSNO
I thought todays concert with Stephen Hough was outstanding.
However, the audiences performance was a little hourendous, from mobile phones going off during the second movment, extreme coughing moments and even someone snoring behind me rather loudly!
I felt really sympathetic for the orchestra and soloist who had to play to that audience.
It was great to hear one of the finest pianists in the world come and play on our doorstep and I could not beleive my eyes when this concert was first advertised as not only was it free, but I never imagined that I would ever hear this pianist as he's one of a few pianists who are very high in demand. So I take my hat off to the RSNO for bringing him to Scotland to grace us with his talents!
