We're delighted to be able to offer the RSNO's acclaimed collection of Chandos recordings for which the Orchestra has achieved a world-wide repuatation: recordings of the Dvorák, Prokofiev and Shostakovich symphonies under Neeme Järvi (with SNO and RSNO), Martinù symphonies under Bryden Thomson, and the many works conducted by Sir Alexander Gibson (with SNO and RSNO), the orchestra’s longest serving Music Director.

During his 25 year tenure, Gibson made over 70 recordings with the then Scottish National Orchestra, many of which are considered key recordings. Works as diverse as Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius and Falstaff, the works of Sibelius, to Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde with Alfreda Hodgson and John Mitchinson.

Neeme Järvi was committed to recording during his time at the helm of the RSNO.  From 1984 to 1988, Järvi made over 60 recordings with the Orchestra, a substantial body of work which includes the complete Prokofiev symphonies, complete Dvorák symphonies, Shostakovich’s symphonies No1 to No10 and other works.
