David Danzmayr Assistant Conductor
He studied piano with Professor Czjcek and conducting both with Dennis Russell Davies at the University Mozarteum and with Leif Segerstam at the Sibelius Academy. David completed his conducting studies in 2005 with honours. During his studies he participated in masterclasses with Zolt Nagy and Hans Zender. In 2003/04 David held the conducting stipendiate of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under Pierre Boulez and Claudio Abbado. He was principal conductor of the Symphonic Ensemble Munich (SEM) and from June 2006 he has held the position of musical leader of the Ensemble Acrobat in Salzburg. His guest engagements include, among others, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Austrian Contemporary Music Ensemble (OENM), and Bruckner Orchestra Linz. As well as his guest engagements he has assisted Dennis Russell Davies with the American Composers Orchestra in New York and rehearsed for Pierre Boulez his piece Memoriales.
David Danzmayr is holder of the Bernhard Paumgartner Medal (which he was
awarded by the Stiftung Mozarteum in December 2005) and was a prize winner in
the 2005 Malko conducting competition. |
