Corporate Social Responsibility Strategies The benefits of Corporate Social Responsibility projects to businesses and to communities include:
This was an experience my pupils will always remember.
Secondary teacher on a TESCO Composition project The RSNO has an award-winning education programme which brings classical music to communities all over Scotland. The Orchestra works with people of all ages and abilities in the belief that taking part in music-making is the best way to learn to enjoy and understand it. Businesses can and do support this work as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility activities. Education department projects are tailor-made for each group. The demands of the school curriculum are taken into account, as are the objectives of the sponsors. Nor is it just schoolchildren who benefit. There have been projects for those with special needs as well as for the elderly in day-care centres or residential homes. In addition the Education Department organizes masterclasses, orchestral coaching and teacher-training sessions for those who are already involved in music. In 2002, the RSNO's team worked with more than 22,000 children and adults, many of whom would otherwise have no way of hearing classical music.
The children are still talking about it with great enthusiasm.

For companies which support the RSNO's education work
there is the obvious benefit of knowing that they are contributing to
worthwhile community activities. But there's more. They benefit, too,
from the positive publicity, both local and national, which these
events attract. They receive tickets for concerts. And they are
credited in all promotional material associated with the projects. |
