Nights at the circus: Sergei Prokofiev took a ballet about trapeze artists and transformed it into a quintet that’s packed with agility, wit, and spectacular feats of musical daring. Five RSNO players walk the tightrope today, share a delightful rediscovery by one of Mozart’s best friends, and introduce something completely different: a brand new piece, written specially for them by their RSNO colleague Christopher Gough. A little piece of musical history!
