RSNO Chorus Academy

Are you interested in singing choral music but don’t feel you’re ready for the RSNO Chorus? Are you passionate about classical music but have never sung it before? Then this is the group for you. The RSNO Chorus Academy is open, without audition, and is led by Frikki Walker, Director of Music at St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, Glasgow. The group will focus on choral techniques, singing techniques and musicianship, including reading a musical score.

    Chorus Academy this season will be taking part in the RSNO's Christmas Concerts in Edinburgh and Glasgow, in December and will also be preparing for an end of season presentation in at the end of May. Please email for a detailed schedule

Gregory Batsleer

Gregory Batsleer is one of the UK’s most dynamic and in demand choral conductors and chorus masters and became Chorus Director of the RSNO in January 2015

Gregory is Artistic Director of the National Portrait Gallery’s Choir in Residence Programme and Principal Conductor of the Portrait Choir, a newly formed professional chamber choir. Gregory has, since 2009, held the position of Chorus Director of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra Chorus, where his work has attracted widespread critical acclaim. He also maintains a close association with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.
