New Music

Since its official founding in 1891, Scotland's National Orchestra has had a passion for new music, regularly commissioning composers of the day and giving world, UK and Scottish premieres of many new works. That passion continues to this day with the Orchestra regularly performing new works as part of our Season concerts.

Established in 2015, the RSNO Composers' Hub continues the Orchestra's commitment to supporting emerging composers. In addition, our nationwide composition competition Notes from Scotland – run in partnership with The National Trust for Scotland – is an exciting composition opportunity for young, budding composers aged 12–18.

Below are our forthcoming concerts that feature RSNO commissions, premieres or new music.
