Piano Appeal

The beginning of every RSNO performance starts with a rehearsal; the moment when the conductor, soloist and orchestra connect. A moment when they all come together to prepare the performance for you, our audience.

Piano concertos are an integral part of the RSNO’s repertoire. Many great soloists have performed with the Orchestra throughout its 125 year history including Vladimir Ashkenazy, Alfred Brendel, John Lill, Nikolai Lugansky and Steven Osborne.

We want to make a significant investment in the RSNO’s musical excellence and we ask for your generous support. Our ambition is to purchase a new Steinway & Sons Grand Piano.  This new piano will enable the Orchestra to provide excellent facilities for visiting artists enhancing the performances of all our piano concerto performances in every concert hall across Scotland and internationally. It will also be used for small scale orchestral and educational performances including our schools concerts.
