Audiences in Scotland will get a sneak peek of the RSNO’s 2020 touring programme with Nicola Benedetti following a change of concert repertoire next month.
Ahead of setting off to Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in January, Benedetti will perform the Sibelius Violin Concerto for home audiences on the 13th and 14th of December.
The piece replaces the Bartók Violin Concerto No2 in the programmes at both Edinburgh’s Usher Hall and the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
RSNO Director of Concerts and Engagement, Bill Chandler, said: “We are so excited to welcome back Nicola Benedetti this Season, and delighted to have the opportunity to showcase part of our upcoming tour programme at these concerts.
“Nicola really is part of the RSNO family, so to be working with her again right before Christmas is a real joy and a get-together that we’re all looking forward to.”
Please note the new programme in full is:
Shostakovich - Festive Overture
Sibelius – Violin Concerto
Mussorgsky (orch Ravel) - Pictures at an Exhibition
