Concerts for primary school pupils in P3–P5

Innovative composers and ingenious inventions: join us as we uncover the hidden secrets of Scotland’s National Orchestra. From Beethoven’s influential 5th Symphony to Bach’s iconic Toccata and Fugue, let your class experience a live symphony orchestra with music they’ll recognise and love.

With interactive elements throughout, the RSNO primary schools concerts aim to enrich children’s understanding of music and are the perfect introduction to the orchestra for young pupils.

With every booking, each school will also receive:

Relaxed Performance

Our relaxed performance is inclusive to all and is designed to support audiences with a range of needs: children, young people and adults with autism, sensory and communication impairments and learning disabilities.

  • Sound levels will be lowered and lighting changes on stage will be reduced (there will be no strobe lighting).
  • Audience lighting will remain on throughout the concert.
  • Audience members will be free to come and go from the auditorium at any point throughout the performance.
  • There will be a designated quiet space accessible before, during and after the concert.
  • A BSL interpreter will be made available for the concert if requested in advance.
  • Audience members will have access to the auditorium 30 minutes before the start of the concert.

  • Bookings are accepted on a strictly first come first served basis.
  • All costs are inclusive of VAT
  • Upon booking you will receive an email acknowledgement outlining the details of your booking and with further details of how to book your teacher training session and in-school workshop.
  • Concert information will be emailed to you shortly before the concert with details of your seat allocations and other relevant event information.
  • By being a member of the audience at an RSNO schools concert you may be photographed or filmed and we may use the images and footage for our own promotional material. Please contact us if you do not wish to be included in this.

Teacher Training & Workshops

Teacher Training Sessions

Led by RSNO musicians, this training session for teachers will introduce the music and concepts of RSNO 360 LIVE and highlight how you can best use the resources in the teachers’ pack in the classroom. This session will give non-music specialists the opportunity to develop music teaching skills with the guidance of RSNO musicians.

Workshops

Up to two RSNO musicians will visit your school in the lead up to the concert where they will introduce their instruments to the class and further explore the musical concepts in preparation for your visit.
