When did you join the RSNO?
I joined the RSNO in September 1987.

Where are you from?
I’m from North West London.

Where did you study?
I studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

What do you enjoy most about being in the RSNO?
Playing some of the best orchestral music ever written, to a standard higher than I could achieve by myself.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not playing with the Orchestra?
As a complete contrast to work I love being outdoors, especially in the landscape of Scotland. Cycling, Running, Hill walking, Skiing and ski-touring are all activities I enjoy and try to combine them with work whenever possible.

If you could have dinner with anyone (alive or dead) who would it be, and why?
Mihajiil Gorbachov – he’s one of the most courageous politicians of the 20th century to dismantle a political system that put him in place as leader of the Soviet Union.

You’re stranded on a desert island. You’re allowed 3 CDs and 1 book. What would they be, and why?
My list would be constantly changing I’m glad to say, but at the moment it would be: Wager- The Ring (quite a lot of CDs, I know); Bach Mass in B minor- Dunedin Consort & Players; and Queen’s Made in Heaven.
