I joined the RSNO in July 1989.

Where are you from?
I’m from Winchester.

Where did you study?
I studied at the Royal Northern College of Music.

What do you enjoy most about being in the RSNO?
The thing I most enjoy about being in the RSNO is my section!

Tell us your favourite RSNO story/memory so far.
My favourite memory from the RSNO is trying to play treble recorder in a live recording – I had cotton wool and earplugs to block out the sniggering from our colleagues!

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not playing with the Orchestra?
When I’m not playing with the Orchestra, I enjoy spending time with my family.

If you could have dinner with anyone (alive or dead) who would it be, and why?
If I could have dinner with anyone at all – dead or alive – it would be my Dad.

You’re stranded on a desert island. You’re allowed 3 CDs and 1 book. What would they be, and why?
If I was stranded on a desert island, the 3 CDs which I would bring would be Whitney Houston, Queen and Prokofiev.
