RSNO announces new board member

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra has announced Kat Heathcote has been appointed as a new elected Director on its board.

Ms Heathcote, Commercial Director at Witherbys Publishing Group Ltd, is an experienced Director in both Executive and Non-Executive roles and a dedicated supporter of the RSNO.

RSNO Chair Dame Sue Bruce: "On behalf of the RSNO I would like to welcome Kat Heathcote to the board. Kat brings years of experience in successful business growth and a personal dedication to lifelong music engagement and education, which will enrich our highly skilled and diverse board. Kat joins us at an exciting time as we look to build on the success of recent years as we prepare our next Season and the beginning of a new decade.”

In addition to the RSNO, Kat Heathcote currently holds Non-Executive Director roles at St Mary's Music School and with the Nevis Ensemble. Kat is a Trustee of the WPG Trust, a charitable organisation funded out of the profits of the WPG Group that supports education projects and individuals in the Arts and Sport.

Ms Heathcote benefitted significantly from a musical education in Wales, playing and singing to national youth level, and is strongly committed to the cause of widening access to music at all levels and ages in Scotland.
