Aly and Phil St Andrew’s Party remastered for lockdown
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra has announced the finale to its Friday Night Club on 3 July will be a St Andrew’s Celebration, sponsored by Capital Document Solutions.
The popular lockdown concert series will come to an end with the knees-up show originally recorded in 2016, featuring popular Scottish duo Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham, with footage re-edited and remastered for 2020.
Capital Document Solutions, a long-time supporter of the RSNO, originally sponsored the 2016 party at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and returns to sponsor the Friday Night Club finale.
The concert on 3 July will be the fifteenth and final Friday Night Club and marks the end of the popular series which has gathered more than 215,000 views so far.
In 2016 the St Andrew’s concert was one of the 125-year anniversary celebrations of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra to celebrate great Scottish music-making. The show was especially chosen by the RSNO as the finale to its lockdown digital concert offering for its supporters in Scotland and around the world.
Chief Executive of the RSNO, Alistair Mackie, said: “When we started the RSNO Friday Night Club in March, I don’t think any of us could have predicted that in July we’d still be in a position of needing this at-home concert experience. It has been incredible to see the support for our online content, and we really wanted to use the finale of this series to say a massive thank you to all our supporters.
“We are grateful to Capital Document Solutions for their support of this online concert, which is fitting as they sponsored the original performance in 2016 and have been a great friend to the RSNO. We are inviting everyone to join us for this fun knees-up ending. Farewell to the Friday Night Club series.”
Tom Flockhart, Managing Director of Capital Document Solutions, said: “We have been proud to support the RSNO for many years and, as a passionate Scot, I have always wanted to have this amazing orchestra and its music as accessible as possible to the public, including our many clients.
“So it’s a great thrill to know this concert will be such a major celebration of Scotland – and it will be available across the world.
“I will be watching in awe – and encouraging the hundreds of our staff and clients from around Scotland to tune in too.”
Capital Documents Solutions is Scotland’s biggest independent copy-scan-print specialist with - pre lockdown - more than 13,000 machines deployed to 3000 customers. The firm has 200 staff across five Scottish offices and annual revenues of £22m.
