The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) is delighted to announce the promotion of Dr Jane Donald to Deputy Chief Executive and Tammo Schuelke to Director of Artistic Planning as the organisation adopts a new leadership structure.
Jane has been Director of External Relations at the RSNO for almost fifteen years and will continue fulfilling this role alongside her new position as Deputy Chief Executive. Currently serving on the Board of Directors at Eden Court, Jane has a wealth of industry experience and has previously worked for Scottish Opera, the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and Celtic Connections. She was board member of the Arts Marketing Association for over a decade and holds a PhD in Organisation Studies from the University of St Andrews.
Tammo takes up the new position of Director of Artistic Planning, following six years in the RSNO’s Artistic Team, first as Artistic Planning Manager then Head of Planning. Having previously worked for Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Impresariat Simmenauer and Salzburger Festspiele, Tammo brings a deep knowledge of the industry and an international perspective to the role.
On her new role, Jane said: ‘Having worked with the RSNO for fifteen years, I’m grateful for this opportunity to support the Orchestra in a new capacity. Working alongside Tammo in our expanded roles, I look forward to building on the strong foundations we’ve established whilst exploring fresh opportunities to connect with our audiences and champion our world-class musicians. Our talented team, exceptional players and choruses are the driving force behind everything we do, and I look forward to working together as we continue to share music across Scotland and beyond.’
Discussing his appointment, Tammo said: ‘The new role offers me an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of the RSNO. Together with our outstanding musicians and management team, I look forward to developing our artistic profile and creative relationships to make the RSNO an orchestra that continues to stand the test of time, and to be a meaningful part of our audiences’ lives, both in Scotland and around the globe.’
