Open Call for Short Films Application close Sun 15 November 2026
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra is seeking existing short, animated films (4-7 minutes maximum) to be rescored by emerging composers and recorded by the RSNO as part of the next edition of our Film Composers Lab.
The RSNO’s Film Composers Lab is a professional development scheme for early-career composers with an interest in composition for screen. Your film will support up-and-coming composing talent to develop their scoring skills under the expert guidance of industry professionals. The new film score will be professionally recorded by Scotland’s National Orchestra, providing you with a new musical interpretation of your work. We will provide a £200 usage fee for each selected film.

You must be based in the UK to be eligible to submit your film. The closing date for submissions is Sunday 15 November 2026 at 5pm.
