Soprano Polly Beck

Polly Beck is originally from Liverpool and now lives in Greenock. She studied singing at the RCS, achieving a BA in Music Performance. She performed with Scottish Opera’s full-time chorus, then won a scholarship and achieved an MMus at the RNCM. Awards include – D’Oyly Carte, Peter Moores and Countess of Munster. She also achieved her LTCL Teacher’s in Speech and Drama.

Highlighted roles include The Female Chorus – Rape of Lucretia – Britten, Sieglinde – Die Walküre – Wagner, Second Lady -The Magic Flute – Mozart, Waltraute – Die Walküre – Wagner. Oratorios include Vivaldi’s Gloria, Elijah’s Mendelssohn, Mozart’s Requiem, Verdi’s Requiem.

Polly has worked with Scottish Opera Education as an animateur, and soloist with Scottish Opera Orchestra delivering projects to pupils and CPD to teachers.

Polly is proud to be the Vocal Coach for the RSNO Chorus. Coaching, teaching and workshops for other organisations include RCS Juniors, NYCOS, University of Glasgow, Inverclyde Music Services, Junior RNCM, the Music Partners in Education Group, NASUWT and The National Education Group, Cymru conferences on Singing, Performing and Vocal Health. As a soloist, Polly continues to enjoy a variety of concert work, most recently Verdi’s Requiem for RSNO’s Come and Sing workshop, and further afield in the USA and Canada.
