Whether it’s film scores or genre-defying operas, modern myths or collaborations with David Bowie, the music of Philip Glass has captivated audiences around the world – crossing art forms and setting the pulse of contemporary music. Marking ten years since Bowie’s death, the RSNO returns to Sonica Glasgow with Glass’ Symphony No4 Heroes – a sweeping orchestral re-imagining of Bowie and Brian Eno’s iconic 1970s album which drew its inspiration from the then-divided city of Berlin. Visual artist Tatsuru Arai enhances the experience with sumptuous visuals that transform Glass’ sound world into one of shimmering light and motion. We can be heroes, just for one day.
