Founded in 1843 to give Scotland’s first full performance of Handel’s Messiah, the RSNO Chorus has a rich history behind its current reputation as one of the most successful choruses in the UK. The RSNO Chorus has approx 120 members and performs in around six different programmes in up to twenty concerts across Scotland with the RSNO each year. The RSNO Chorus is directed by Gregory Batsleer.
RSNO Junior Chorus
Founded in 1978 by Jean Kidd, the RSNO Junior Chorus is one of the leading children and youth choirs in the UK, with over 400 members aged seven to eighteen. It has built up a considerable reputation singing under some of the world’s most distinguished conductors and appearing on radio and television.
RSNO Chorus Academy
The RSNO Chorus Academy was formed in November 2015. The group was set up to encourage singers who would like to build their confidence in all aspects of singing, including choral techniques, singing techniques and musicianship, as well as reading a musical score. The Chorus Academy is directed by Aimee Toshney.
