Backstage Pass – your ticket to a career in the arts Posted Fri 29 May 2026
What is Backstage Pass?
Backstage Pass is an unique opportunity for young people interested in a career in the arts, put together by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and Scottish Chamber Orchestra with aspiring young professionals in mind. The event was first launched in 2024, where 300 young people were welcomed by the RSNO and SCO to discover how to build a career in the arts which isn’t just performing.
Who is it for?
Backstage Pass is for young people aged 15 to 19 who are looking to kickstart their career in the arts. For this year’s event, the RSNO and SCO have run focus groups with students in and around Perth to better understand young people’s concerns about starting a career in the arts to help prepare this year’s programme.
When is it?
Backstage Pass takes place at Perth Concert Hall on Tuesday 23 June from 10am – 1pm.
What’s on?
This year, we’re offering a programme of inspiring panel discussions, talks and marketplace stalls to give attendees insight into what a career in the arts can look like off the stage. By having the opportunity to connect with and learn directly industry professionals, young people will be able to gather ideas about what steps they can take towards their dream career.
How can I get involved?
If you’re interested in making the most of this exciting opportunity, young people aged 16 and above are invited to sign up themselves, or you can ask your teachers to sign you up here entirely for free
If you have any more questions about Backstage Pass, feel free to contact engage@rsno.org.uk. We hope to see you there!
