This special showcase sees five short animations brought to life with new scores by five emerging film composers. With soundtracks recorded by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the composers have created these works under the guidance of award-winning composers including John Lunn (Downton Abbey, Shetland) as part of the RSNO Film Composers Lab. Join us as we celebrate new music and fascinating animation at this special free screening.

RSNO Film Composers Lab is a professional development scheme for early-career composers with an interest in composition for screen. The programme offers emerging UK-based composers an invaluable and unique opportunity to expand their skills in film composition by rescoring an existing short film while working directly with a professional orchestra, experienced film composers and screen industry professionals, creating a brand-new composition for full symphony orchestra.

Film Composers Lab 2025:26 is kindly supported by the Boris Karloff Charitable Foundation, Common Humanity Arts Trust and The Noël Coward Foundation.
