Sir Alexander Gibson Memorial Conducting Fellow Gabriella Noble

Gabriella Noble is a conductor and mezzo-soprano based in London, who trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She has worked with National Youth Choir since 2018 and formerly held posts at St Peters, London Docks and at St Martin-in-the-Fields, where she conducted in broadcasts for the BBC. With amateurs and professionals alike, she offers an ambitious approach informed by her love of storytelling, which she considers a necessary feature of choral text delivery. She loves creating programmes with narrative flow, mining the wealth of underperformed choral repertoire.

An Oxford Song Young Artist and recent finalist in the Rebecca Clarke Song Competition, Gabriella’s singing informs her conducting and vice versa. This summer she made her role debut as Cherubino with the Cumbria Opera group, a role which she is reprising with Oxford Opera in October 2026. A lover of early music, she toured Europe as a young artist with Fundaciòn Salvat and was awarded the 2023 Rodney Gibson prize for Early Music by the AESS. Her position as an artist on the Wigmore French Song Exchange culminated in recital appearances at Salle Cortot in Paris and at the Wigmore Hall.
