Backstage Pass is a free creative careers event from the RSNO and SCO, targeted at young people ages 15-19, designed to showcase the breadth of careers available within the performing arts sector. It gives young people a rare chance to speak directly with arts organisations about the programmes and range of opportunities they offer.
Experience a morning or afternoon of insightful panel discussions, talks and marketplace stalls where pupils can hear from young professionals in the arts who will share their journeys and highlight the many different pathways into a career in the arts.
The event has grown from the Youth Assembly 2023–24, whose members planned and hosted the inaugural Backstage Pass at the RSNO Centre in November 2024. To inform the content of the day, the RSNO and SCO have run focus groups with secondary school pupils across Perthshire. These conversations have helped us to identify the questions and concerns that young people have about what a career in the arts could be and how together we can conquer the barriers they face.
To maximise the number of pupils we can reach through this event we are running the same 3-hour event twice within the day. You can select your preferred morning or afternoon slot upon booking.
