RSNO and Dunedin Consort call to composers to create new music

To mark the culmination of a three-year partnership, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) and Dunedin Consort are commissioning a memorable new work which will celebrate the strengths of the two ensembles. The work will be purpose-written for the two world-class ensembles to perform together as part of the RSNO’s 2024:25 Season and will link to a theme of Scottish culture or history.  A public call to composers to create this new work is now open.

The successful composition will be performed by the RSNO and Dunedin Consort together in early summer 2025. The work will be performed in both Glasgow and Edinburgh and conducted by the RSNO’s Music Director Thomas Søndergård. Submissions are welcomed from composers at any age and at any stage in their career. For further information, please visit here.
