You can’t beat Fate, so let’s eat, drink and behave very badly indeed! That’s the basic story in Carl Orff’s outrageous Carmina Burana – an ear-filling, roof-raising musical celebration featuring the powerful O Fortuna. Sir James MacMillan conducts the RSNO’s choruses in his own fiery celebration of the power of music, Timotheus, Bacchus and Cecilia, and shares a new kind of spring song from one of Scotland’s most original young composers.
