In ancient Greece, a boy and a girl discover the miracle of love, and all of nature seems to burst with rapturous, shimmering life. This is Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé, and for Thomas Søndergård it’s the crowning glory of a whole concert devoted to the joy, the magic and the sheer wonder of sound. First, though, Lili Boulanger captures the perfumes of a spring morning, and Szymanowski scatters notes like jewels. Sounds gorgeous? Just wait until you hear it.

Gain insight into the music with our musicians at the pre-concert talk at 6.45pm in the Upper Circle Bar in Edinburgh and the Clyde Foyer in Glasgow. Free to ticket holders.
