This evening’s concert at the Wiesbaden Kurhaus is dedicated entirely to Scotland. With its renowned landscapes surrounding the Scottish Highlands, this corner of the world has captivated artists from diverse fields for centuries. Among them was Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, who found inspiration for his Scottish Symphony at Holyrood Castle in Edinburgh. The ideal ensemble for performing this symphony, imbued with Scottish colour and bagpipe influences, is, of course, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, which is making its Rheingau Music Festival debut this year with two exclusive projects. Also on stage at this concert: the celebrated violinist Bomsori Kim, who in the first half of the concert brings Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous Violin Concerto to the stage and with her virtuoso performances repeatedly amazes the audience and press.
