RSNO announces Louise Mitchell CBE and David Macluskey as new board members Posted Wed 23 September 2026
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) has announced that Louise Mitchell CBE and David Macluskey have been co-opted to its Board of Directors. The Board continues to work to support the Orchestra’s engagement with hundreds of thousands of people every year, nationally and internationally, in person and online.
Louise Mitchell CBE has an extensive career in the arts industry behind her, having held senior roles with Edinburgh International Festival, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Glasgow UNESCO City of Music and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Most recently Louise served as founding Chief Executive of Bristol Music Trust, the charity set up to manage Bristol Beacon, a renowned venue, music charity and award-winning music education hub. Louise is also a trustee of Impact Scotland, Welsh National Opera, a member of Arts Council England SW Area Council and serves on the Council of the Royal Philharmonic Society.
David Macluskey is Strategic Lead Education and Learning (Chief Education Officer) at Perth and Kinross Council, responsible for the education of around 9,000 children and young people. David brings with him a deep knowledge of Scotland’s education system from his time as a classroom teacher and in high school senior management roles. David is the vice chair of the Perth and Kinross Local Employability Forum and sits on the boards of Developing Young Workforce (Tayside).
The Board also welcomes three new Player Directors, Associate Principal Viola Felix Tanner, Second Violin Kirstin Drew and First Violin Liam Lynch, who bring their wealth of knowledge as professional musicians to the group.
The Board wishes to thank Kat Heathcote MBE and David Robinson for their extensive contributions as well as Player Directors Principal Trumpet Christopher Hart, Principal Flute Katherine Bryan and First Violin Lorna Rough who step down from their roles after years of dedicated service.
