Generations is a six-week long project focusing on building connections and friendships through music making between Primary 7 children at Northmuir Primary School and elderly participants with moderate stage dementia from Kirrie Connections, led by Creative Lead Stephen Deazley.

This project encourages participants to take part in singing, music making, the playing of instruments, and sharing stories in a caring environment, with the aim of encouraging cross-generational relationships.

Generations aims for the participants to:

Enjoy the project activities whilst making them feel happy and more motivated

Feel supported to explore their creativity and self-expression

Improve wellbeing

Develop cross-generational relationships with those who enjoy music

The project will work towards a final showcase event in Kirriemuir Town Hall. This will involve the project participants, singers from the Dundee Chorus Academy and players from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
