Chamber Series: Cellobration

Sun 28 Apr 2019, 2.30PM
New Auditorium, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow

One cello sounds gorgeous. So a whole ensemble of cellos, playing in close harmony…well, it’s the sonic equivalent of drowning in dark chocolate. Artist in Residence Johannes Moser takes the lead, beginning with the timeless purity of unaccompanied Bach, and gradually building through Bach-inspired music across three centuries before arriving at Klengel’s Hymnus, and the unparalleled richness of 12 cellos singing as one. Sit back, relax, and let that glorious sound just sweep you away.

Repertoire will include: Bach Prelude from Cello Suite No1
Bach Sarabande from Cello Suite No6
Grieg Holberg Suite
Mindaugas Urbaitis Bach Variations
Klengel Hymnus for 12 Cellos
