Her portayal of Annina in La Traviata at the Wiener Staatsoper was held in high esteem with the last line of Laura Servidei’s review for Bachtrack reading: “Honourable mention to Stephanie Maitland who sang Annina with a low-centred, powerful and smooth mezzo.” Another newspaper review read “… and Stephanie Maitland as the very powerful Annina sounded almost like a leading role.”
Last season at the Staatsoper Stephanie sang the roles of Die Schleppträgerin (Elektra) conducted by Franz Welser-Möst and Zweiter Knappe in Kirill Serebrennikov’s new production of Parsifal, conducted by Philippe Jordan.
