Join us for Still I Rise: Stories of Hope and Justice – the RSNO’s free 2024 National Schools Concert Programme for Secondary 1-3 and Primary 7 transition classes!

Still I Rise focuses on the lives and music of three important but marginalised 20th century composers – Ethel Smyth, Julius Eastman and Viktor Ullmann – through the lens of Maya Angelou’s poem of the same name.

With a live concert experience presented by cellist, poet and performing artist Simone Seales, the programme will offer pupils the opportunity to engage directly with the composers’ music whilst learning about the social and historical context of their lives and work.

A full suite of accessible digital content will accompany the live concerts, ensuring that pupils across Scotland can access the programme, regardless of their location or circumstances.

All elements of the programme are completely free to access but registration is required. To sign-up, please click here.
